Recipe Collection from the Smackdown

Recently, the Zangla women took on the challenge to make the best dish with only some common items you might have around the house...in the Recipe Smackdown! These few emails ignited a spark in those brilliant Zangla minds...or should I say stomach. We were all talking and discussing recipes and wondering how we could get our hands on those Zangla Italian classics. So, I have decided to start a blog where we all can post and comment on recipes creating the the ultimate Zangla recipe collection. So have at it! Let the food begin to fly! Oh, and old family stories are welcome too.

Here are some dishes to get your brains thinking...if you have the recipe, write it down!

-Fish with red sauce over rice
-Kayle with tomatoes (or was it ketchup?)
-Escarrole and beans with the sausage- soup grandmom used to make
-Shaved beef with green peppers and onions over rice
-Mom's meatballs.
-Sausage and green peppers-the kind dad made around the holidays for parties
-Tuna casserole
-Scrambled eggs and beans
-Any others?

(And a special note to the kids--we haven't grown up with these awesome family recipes or for that matter, even eaten them. But that doesn't mean you can't get involved too. Ask questions, write down favorite memories, or share some of YOUR favorite recipes--they could become a new zangla tradition.)
